Crime in Schools: Increasing Statistical Figures

Recent reports would show that the there is an increasing trend of crime in schools. Government officials should take action on this matter if they do not want things to get worse. This kind of security problem cannot only threaten students and teachers but it can also pose a threat to national security. No wonder politicians take these crimes in schools as very serious matters to be discussed.

There are several factors that can result to various crimes. One of the major factors can be attributed to the economy. Studies would show that unemployment rate is correlated with increasing crime rates. When people do not have any job and they do not have any means to earn income, some would result to various atrocities and other kinds of crime just to survive. Another factor that would increase crime rates in school is the ineffectiveness of law enforcers. Some criminals and other offenders would think that they can really get away with the crimes they have committed. But if a particular city has strict laws and that public officials would really implement these laws, these offenders would definitely think twice or even more before they make a move. That is why local government units should have competitive, devoted and reliable law enforcers. After all, the state should protect its citizens from any form of crime.

This increasing trend can be really alarming and dangerous. There were many cases where minors got involved in violent incidents. Although there were also adults who committed crime in schools, the number of minors assaulting other students is also on the rise. Now, the government has to take a much more sensitive stand on this issue. In some countries, minors cannot be put to prison or to jail even if he or she committed a heinous crime.
